Knocked-Out Tooth

After a tooth is knocked out, there’s a chance it can be placed back into the open socket. To do this, you’ll need to pick up the tooth by the crown, avoid touching the root, and never remove any tissue still attached. Rinse your mouth with water and place the tooth into the open socket. You can also contain it in milk for up to one hour.

Lost Filling / Crown

When a dental filling is lost, you’ll need to have it replaced in most cases. However, you can use dental cement to cover the exposed portion of tooth. A dental crown can also be temporarily adhered with dental cement or denture adhesive. This is not a permanent solution and the restoration will likely need to be replaced.
